That’s disappointing that we have 3x as many screens and just slightly more viewers.

All that means is that both films bombed. However, a doc generally has lower production cost so the anti-religion film is probably more profitable.

Personally, I think Zucker, et al, marketed this film poorly. They should have just sold the film as “the new comedy from the creator of ‘Airplane’ and ‘Scary Movie’”, maybe even called it “Political Movie.” Let people figure out it was conservative on their own. No one likes being proselytized to.

That is what people generally call a “flop”

That’s great. However, the b.o. shows that you’re in a distinct minority.

This is pretty much the conservative version of “Lions for Lambs” or any of those other anti-war left wing films that came out earlier this year: the marketing campaign tried to appeal only to the base and not the general movie going public.

I plan to see American Carol later today. When I was checking show times at our two multiplex theaters I noticed Religulous isn’t even showing here.

Go see American Carol today. The second day box office is what matters to Hollywood because it indicates good word of mouth. A movie that does well the first night, but brings in less the second night is not a good sign in Hollywood's eyes.

I saw it yesterday and it's really really good. The gags and jokes abound. I think a lot goes by you because it's rapid fire. What I'm finding is it's even funnier in retrospect (1 day, lol!) because the things you see on tv make you think of the way they were handled in the movie and it cracks you up. For instance, the way they handled the crowds of chanting protestors, or crowds of Obamabots chanting their mindless slogans. I saw a video of the crowd of protesters chanting at Palin's Dallas appearance on Friday after I saw the movie. You can't help but be reminded of the idiots in the movie.

I think you’ll have to wait for the entire weekend to see what the real story is. Reason, figure who goes to the movie on Friday nights. Usually not parents of younger children, ever tried to get a babysitter for Friday night...Saturday is a much better time, or Sunday. Not a lot of retired or older people either, we don’t like to fight the crowds of “youngsters” that do show up at the multi-plexes on Friday night.

On the other hand, Maher attracts the younger, possibly single or childless generation, and they are the ones who do attend movies on Friday nights.

We’re going to see it this weekend, just didn’t go on Friday night...we, being the conservatives we are, opt for the $6 matinee tickets, instead of the $9 evening ticket prices, LOL

Mrs. Alaska and I haven't been to a "picture show" {I think that's what gun clingers call those things down at the Bijou} since Mel Gibson's "Passion".

I'm getten ready to hitch up the wagon and trek on into the city to see An AMERICAN Carroll.

We may stop at a real restaurant and have some vittles {after we pray}.

Gonna pick up some ammo, and supplies for the coming shoot out.

You can see clear bias at Rotten Tomatoes. The bad part is that this is not showing at my local theater. Also check out the bias on “Fireproof”.

It’s been about 5 years since my last trip to the movies. I did watch a Dora DVD with my daughters last night though. :o)

I think I read yesterday that Fireproof has done pretty well at the Box Office.

Ditto. We don't want to fight the Friday night crowds at the movies, either. We're going to the matinee today.
